Recent years, my artistic theme is around “long term elderly care (老人長期照顧)”. I am interested in this topic because my parents and I took care of our grandparents at home; grandfather for 3 years and grandmother for 10 years. During a research on long term elderly care, I knew below. (1)Taiwan’s population was already aging (2)number of care-giver for elder was not enough (3)cost of elderly care was expensive. I understood Taiwan’s long term elderly care was one of serious social problems as well as Japan’s and conducted a research on Taiwan’s long term elderly care too. I stayed in Taipei(Taipei Artist Village/台北國際芸術村) from January to March in 2019. I was selected as one of five artists by City of Yokohama to participate in exchange program between Yokohama and Taipei. I felt fortunate to have this opportunity to conduct a research on long term elderly care in Taiwan. I went to more than 15 long term elderly care centers(在台北, 新台北市, 桃園縣, 新竹縣, 宜蘭縣, 花蓮縣 and 台東縣) to interview care workers; interviewing them is the center of my research.And I took many videos for recording the interviews. Finally, I displayed four of all videos in the gallery of Taipei Artist Village.
